Teachers...
Her journey has evolved through the gifts of many circles, into a Rainbow Medicine Path, now as teacher/student of the White Drum Mesa of the North. She is a gifted experienced, multicultural facilitator whose classes are full of sacred play, ceremony, music and drum. A member of the "tribe" of US Dominican Women for over 35 years, Valorie has served in diverse roles as community health nurse, holistic educator, spiritual/guide, and social/peace activist together within communities of marginalized families in crisis, HIV/AIDS programs, Cambodian refugee camps, in urban and rural settings in New York, Latin America and Asia. As a student of Life, Valorie has been taught and initiated as healer/ shaman/ earthkeeper by indigenous teachers from the Americas, Southeast Asia, Sweden and New York. Her focus and passion is to continue the listening and responding to the urgent call of Mother Earth and all her Children for transformation and healing in this critical time of a new epoch for the Human Being. Mitkuye Oyasen - May all be as ONE www.sevenfires.org

Kamloops, BC Shamanic healing is 20 thousand years old and embraced by indigenous people all over the world. The Shaman connects to wisdom and knowing through shamanic journeys, creating pathways to wisdom that is available to us when we go beyond our personal stories. Shamans believe they can heal seven generations forward and seven generations back. Therefore, engaging in shamanic healing is a powerful opportunity to find the healed state for the individual and the collective. This workshop is an opportunity to experience powerful shamanic journeys and track your healed state, through the power of the drum, rattle and human chanting. The workshop is for those who have already embraced the shamanic journey or for those who are just beginning to explore. We are the ones we have been waiting for and this workshop will be designing to open up the pathways to your remembering. Your soul choose to be here at this time and so isnŐt it time you discovered more of what your soul would like to experience in this lifetime. I am excited to sit in sacred circle with you as we connect directly to the wisdom that is waiting for us to explore. This time of 2010 is a time of change and transformation. We have the opportunity to be curious as to how we can access the wisdom that is available or we can continue to follow the status quo. In my experience we can partner with spirit directly and discover our highest destiny. I invite anyone who feels this speaks to your heart, if you are a full Mesa carrier or someone who is curious and wanting to experience more from their life, you are most welcome. Sweat:
Contact Susan here >> The sweat lodge ceremony is a round of four sessions of prayer in a circular lodge that is heated with "grandfathers" (stones) that have been heated in a fire. Water and herbs are sprinkled on the grandfathers. Participants may exit the lodge between the rounds of prayers or at any time should they become uncomfortable. The fire is started approximately two hours before the sweat begins and the lodge and sacred space is prepared during this time. Those attending the sweat are encouraged to assist in various parts of the ceremony according to their own comfort level. The new sweat lodge is located at the home of elder/teacher Joan Arnous of the Little Shuswap Band. Exit Highway 1 at the Sqwlax Bridge. Look for the Quuaout Lodge information. This will be a right turn if you are driving east, left turn if driving west. Cross the bridge over the highway and the river. Turn left at the end of the bridge towards the Quuaout lodge. You will pass the PowWow grounds on your right just before the Band Office also on the right. It is a round building with a large sign. Joan's house, #1877, is on the left, across the road from the band office. There is a dirt road before you get to Joan's driveway that will take you around the back of the house where you can park. Wear: bathing suit, shorts and T-shirt, cotton night gown, or light cotton dress. Cotton is recommended rather than synthetics. A pair of slip-on shoes/sandles for in/out of the lodge, a house coat or wrap for when exiting the lodge Please bring: towels, something to sit on in the lodge that will get wet (there are bamboo beach mats on the floor of the lodge), something to drink, something to share in the way of food, a gift for the elder/facilitator of the sweat. ***PLEASE

Annual 8,000 Sacred Drums Global Ceremony...
"When
8000 sacred drums sound together, Again, the Otomi elders of Mexico will be holding ceremonies to gather as many sacred drummers together as possible to continue the fulfillment of their 500-year old prophecy with the powerful intention to open healing of our blessed earth mother - please join us by gathering together and/or drumming mindfully wherever you are at this time! ..........................................................................................
A call has gone out to all lightworkers and indigenous nations around the world in calling for justice - for healing. ** According to a Sacred Prophecy revealed at the Otomi Ceremonial Center by Otomi Elder Sages, the day when the sounds of 8,000 Sacred Drums join together is the beginning of the healing of Mother Earth. It is time to unify ourselves to rediscover the seeds of the Four Directions - to reactivate cosmic energy, heal historical wounds. It's time to respect life, liberty and the dignity of Our Peoples. The first great ceremony was held March 21, 2004 in Temoaya, Mexico. Drum circles joined around the world on the Spring Equinox. This will continue each year until 2012. Sacred

Circles
for healing... How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you? "A
place for you to go, a place of women, to help you learn the ways
of women, a place where you were nurtured from an ancient flow sustaining
you and steadying you as you sought to become yourself. A place of
women, to hlep you find and trust the ancient flow already there within
yourself, waiting to be released. A place of women. How might your
life be different?" This is a time of great upheaval and change. It is also a time of great healing. Come sit in circle with your sisters, mothers and grandmothers. Connect with your inner wisdom and with the ancient wisdom of the community of women. Be part of the tremendous healing that will be, for ourselves, our community and our planet. This ongoing circle will be held in sacred space by Heathir Rhyasen. NOTE: Starting back up in the Fall, 2009... Location:

--------------------------------------------- Upcoming Advanced Course Shamanic Divination Training with Leslie Conton, Ph.D. April 24 and 25, 2010 - Vancouver BC - Venue TBA One of the classic tasks of the shaman is to journey into non-ordinary reality in order to obtain answers to questions, both at the request of others and for oneself. Participants in the workshop have the opportunity to engage in divination journeys for each other as well as for themselves and to gain experience in using various time-tested shamanic divination techniques. In the shamanic search to become persons of knowledge, they learn, as shamans have from time immemorial, how to converse with plant and animal spirits, how to learn about the use of quartz crystals, and how to seek and receive revelatory knowledge from visionary sources. Facilitator: Leslie Conton, Ph.D. is Professor of Cultural anthropology at Fairhaven College, Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. She is a Michael Harner Teaching Associate of The Foundation of Shamanic Studies, a practitioner of core shamanism, and a certified Harner Method Shamanic Counsellor. For over 30 years, Leslie has studied with Shamans in Papua New Guinea, China, the United States and most recently Nepal. Dr. Conton is a talented, inspirational teacher and a gifted Shamanic healer. Prerequisite: the FSS Basic Workshop. To register, contact Heathir, Email here >> or call 604-420-5845 --------------------------------------------- The
Way of the Shaman Basic
Workshop for The Foundation of Shamanic Studies
Next Session TBA During the Basic experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism, the universal and near-universal basic methods of the shaman to enter nonordinary reality for problem solving and healing. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature.
